Founded in 1972, Sgt. McDaniels after returning from Vietnam serving in the US military saw the need in our local communities for food, clothing, and new unwrapped Christmas toys. He began this organization with asmall list of individuals in need and each year since, the list has grown. Now, both he and his wife Jessica organize distribution and pick-up of the needed items.
Recently Sgt. McDaniels added another component to Veterans for Children, Inc. and offers a mobile military museum / memorial for education of today's youth. This is a very exciting piece of Veterans for Children, Inc. and we look forward to seeing it's growth in the future. Its growth is dependent on those giving donations of military items. We are always looking for more WWI, WWII items to display in our museum.

Veterans for Children, Inc. are offering boating excursions on the Chesapeake Bay to all veterans. The excursions are half day trips designed for the veterans who need to get away from the hustle bustle of everyday life. This provides the opportunity to just get away. The program is offered to veterans with PTSD, wounded warriors, and all of our American heroes who have fought in all wars. If you are interested in fishing, bring along your gear or just bring yourself to enjoy a day on the water. Anyone wishing to donate to Veterans for Children, Inc. to help keep these programs alive can mail contributions to: Â

- Collection of new, unwrapped toys
The holidays are an exciting time for all of us. Children are usually the most excited of all and can't wait to tear open those brightly colored packages. Veterans for Children, Inc. exist so that no child in need will wake Christmas morning to nothing under their tree. We collect new unwrapped toys for children age 1 - 17 that are in need in the local community all year long.
- Collection of new clothing and shoes
The economy is terrible and there is no improvement showing for the future. Jobless rates are at an all-time high and salaries are at an all-time low. Veterans for Children, Inc. collect new clothing and shoes for those in need. Collections are needed for all age groups and all genders.
- Collection of non-perishable food items
Food costs are on the rise and our shelves are running bare. We provide non-perishable food items to families in need in the local community. We have seen a tremendous increase in need for food items and don't for see a change in the near future
